Well first of all I want to apologize for not blogging in awhile. All the excuses come with I forgot, was to busy and I was packing for vacay. But on to my actual topic. Have you heard of dog fighting? It's an actual thing that could be going on right in your neighborhood. Dogs are trained to fight each other to the death just so the 'owner' can earn some cash. What are the lives of these dogs? They are tied up with heavy chains and huge collars that turn their necks red with sores and rashes. Most of the time their ears are cut to almost nothing. I noticed something like all of that awhile ago. The dog was out of its fenced in yard and we went to check it out. It had jumped on its doghouse and out of the yard. Luckily the chain was long enough for him to have some room outside the yard. It could easily of suffocated itself if the chain wasn't long enough to allow him to jump all the way over the fence. We pulled up and I looked at the environment of this dog. Huge, heavy chains he had to drag, huge collar rubbing on his neck, making sores and rashes. Now I have to decide what to do. It's no good life for a dog to live as a fighter. They could die and if they aren't the loser they still suffer injury. If I do call this in then the dog will probably be taken away and be put down. Most fighting dogs are to vicious to be a pet. But this is cruelty and not how God's animals should be treated.
Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't blog yesterday. I totaly forgot and when I did remember I was already trying to get to sleep.
Have you ever heard the expression 'There are no bad dogs only bad owners'? This expression is actually true. All you dog owners who own a 'bad' dog are probably thinking that you are not a bad owner. It may be true that you are not a bad owner. So how is this expression true? You simply might switch the word owner with people. The expression is now 'There are no bad dogs only bad people'. And THIS is true. All dogs are only bad, because of bad people in their lives. If you got your dog from an animal rescue it may have been saved from an animal abuser. This dog may then be shy and aggressive at times because it is scared of being beaten again. Now you can see the because of a bad person the dog id 'bad'. It is true that dog can be bad, but it is caused from a bad person. Now say your dog is chewing your things. You haven't been mean to that dog and how could a bad person cause that. It is simply because of lack of discipline. This doesn't mean you are a bad person it is, because you just haven't given your dog punishment. So the expression is semi-true, but needs a little changing. The expression 'there are no bad dogs only bad owners' need to be changed to 'All bad dogs are caused by bad people'. Hope that catches on ;)
Sorry I have been very busy today and I don't have anything too blog about anyways.
Ticks are everywhere this year. You never know when a tick might bite. It's best to check yourself over every night if you've been outside. I know a guy who works with a guy who went outside in the woods for an hour and came back with over a hundred ticks on him. The ticks are on the news and people continue to warn people about them. If you're wondering why ticks are bad, I better tell you. 'Ticks are like vampires, but not the good kind,' just kidding. That was from a Petco commercial or something on TV. Anyways, ticks will bite onto your skin and drink your blood. As gross as this is it is only trying to survive. I don't quite blame the ticks for having to do this. They also can carry a harmful disease. Lyme disease is like arthritis but worse. It affects your joints to where it hurts to move to much. This disease can be carried to the victims body after twelve hours (it may have been 24 or 48, but I would stick with the twelve to be safe). The disease can't be transferred if the tick doesn't have, but you can never be sure who has and who doesn't. I hate to kill any bug, but I would recommend giving these bloodsucking bugs a quick almost painful death. We don't want this population to grow anymore. Already it is as large as it has ever been. I would also recommend giving your dogs/cats a tick medicine. Most flea medicines won't cover ticks. The medicine will kill any tick before it can transfer the disease. Make sure your pets are safe from Lyme disease. I pray that God will protect ourselves and our pets from ticks.
There is nothing for me to blog about now. God will bring something to me soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Trust me this blog isn't going to all be about birds, but I have an amazing bird I want to share with you. The Piping Plover is a bird that makes it's nest in the ground. That alone makes it unique, but even after that it is extremely intelligent. These bird's babies sometimes crawl out of the nest. I read that as long as it has down feathers it is safe to touch and carry back to the nest. But get too close and the mom will do the amazing. This bird will start to limp in front of you! It will also act like it's wing is broken. And it will act like it is sitting in a nest so you will walk away from the real nest to look at the fake. It will keep going like this until it has drawn you away from her nest and babies. The whole point of this act is to look injured so the predator will take her instead of her baby. This shows true love and could represent Christ. Just like this bird sacrifices itself for it's baby, Christ sacrificed Himself for us.
